STEP has now disseminated 347 Starter Sacks in 17 Scottish local authorities. A big thank you to all TENET members, ELC settings, sites and schools who have worked with us to reach families in so many local areas. The programme has had a significant impact on families with improved engagement in education and increased uptake of nursery places for young children and school enrolments for older children.
We are now calling on local authorities who have taken part in Phases 1 and 2 to contact STEP to order your consignments of Phase 3 Health and Wellbeing Starter Sacks. The newly launched Health & Wellbeing Sacks include new multimedia learning materials that extend home-based learning and provide families opportunities to engage with the HWB curriculum. For those local authorities who are not yet part of the programme, visit the Starter sack home-play programme pages on the STEP website for more information or complete the MS Form to request your Sacks for young children in your area!
